Phew, we are having a heatwave!

I hardly knew what to do with myself, it was even hot in the shade.

Maisie was all for going to the beach and all I wanted to do was chill, preferably in the fridge. Then the parents came up with a rather strange idea.
A large drinking trough maybe?

NO........ it turns out they thought we might like a paddling pool. Come on, get real, those things are for babies!

Get a load of the bathing beauty though (chortle, snuffle, gufaw)

We were very glad when the sun went down and the grass felt cool on our tummies.

Fatal Attraction

This is serious folks, I am the subject of a fatal attraction.

It's no joke being this handsome, it brings much responsibility. It happened that Maisie and I were taking daddy for his usual walk in the park about three weeks ago when what should appear but a vision of loveliness in the shape of a pug named Penny!

You know how it is guys, there she was looking all rounded and womanly, giving me the eye ....actually the eyes were looking in different directions.... but I digress, she was all pug!!

I swear she winked as we passed.

Well Maisie is pretty sharp and she spotted the rival straight off. She begand shrieking and making a big fuss, didn't let up for a week...... hussey this and tart that, she was after reminding me that one false move on my part and she'll find a use for the tree shaped squeaky toy we got for Christmas!

Anyway she finished off by telling me that Penny (she spat the name out) would not look as enticing with frayed ears and a wonky tail.

Gosh, the passions I evoke eh? Then she smiled.......it was scary, see for yourselves.

There has been a lot of panting in the house lately, not passion I hasten to add, just the weather being unkind to pugs...75 in the shade yesterday!

It takes style to look good in that heat but I pride myself that I manage adequately. See you soon x

Well here we are steaming towards summer and guess what....mummy and daddy have provided us with loungers in the sun room! I personally think that Maisie got the better deal because hers has a slope to climb whereas mine requires an uncharacteristic leap. I do have a fine rug to sleep on though as you can see.

This room doubles/trebles really, as a workroom and art studio for the parents. They claim it's also somewhere they can relax with a coffee but really, you tell me where they can sit?
They'll never both fit into that small floor space.

Thought you might like to see our ancient relative, Dolly the cat . She's not much to look at but boy is she a fiesty old madam. She has her living quarters in the brick outbuilding with the other cat, Sid. maisie and I think it's unfair that they have indoor toilet facilities while we have to go out in all weathers. I tend to keep my feelings about this bottled up but you know Maisie...she just has to make a point now and then (heh heh) they sure were mad when she dolloped on the kitchen floor three times the other night!!!! Come on then, where's the indoor dog loo?
Anyway the BIG news is that Mummy & Daddy are making soap, not that pansy melt & pour stuff either, no the real traditional stuff. The house smells interesting and they are taking baths a lot. maisie says she heard them talking about a soap bar for dogs :o(
Quite gave me a turn it did, lets hope it was just her imagination.
Talk to you pug lovin dudes again soon,
Chester xx
